Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Speak Easy Bookshelf ("we," "us," or "the site") collects when you visit speakeasybooks.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep data collection to a minimum.
Who we are
Speak Easy Bookshelf publishes communication books for kids, teens, adults, and professionals. You can reach us at speakeasybookshelf@gmail.com with any question about your information or this policy.
What we collect
- Email address. If you sign up for our tips or newsletter, we collect the email address you enter, and any name you choose to provide. You give this to us on purpose; we do not collect it any other way.
- Basic technical data. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records standard server information (such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit) to deliver and secure the site.
We do not currently run advertising or analytics tracking on the site, and we do not sell your information to anyone.
How we use your information
- To send you the tips, updates, and occasional announcements you signed up for.
- To respond to messages you send us.
- To operate, secure, and improve the website.
We only email people who asked to hear from us, and every email includes an unsubscribe link. You can opt out at any time.
Service providers
We use a few trusted companies to run the site. They process data on our behalf and under their own privacy terms:
- Kit (email signup and delivery). Your email address is stored with Kit so we can send you what you subscribed to.
- Netlify (website hosting), which processes standard server and connection data.
- Amazon, when you click a link to a book (see the Affiliate Disclosure below).
Cookies
The site uses only the cookies needed for basic functions, such as our email signup form and our host. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or ask us to delete it. To make any of these requests, or to unsubscribe from email, contact us at speakeasybookshelf@gmail.com or use the unsubscribe link in any email. We will respond within a reasonable time.
Children
Although we publish books for young readers, this website is intended for adults, such as parents, educators, and adult readers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Data retention
We keep your email address for as long as you stay subscribed. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your information, we remove it from our active lists.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
Affiliate Disclosure
As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.
Speak Easy Bookshelf is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a way for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.
In plain terms: some links on this site take you to Amazon. If you buy a book through one of those links, we may earn a small commission. It costs you nothing extra, and it never changes the price you pay. We only link to our own books and to titles we actually stand behind.
