Found something wrong in a book, the app, or this website? Tell us. We'll fix it and log it here, not quietly edit it and hope nobody noticed.
How to report an error
Email speakeasybookshelf@gmail.com with what you found and where — the page URL, or the edition, chapter, and roughly where in the chapter. If it's a research claim, tell us which one; we'd rather recheck it against the source than take your word or ours, and we'd rather recheck it against our own error than assume the reader is wrong.
What happens next
- Website copy (this site, including the guides) is usually the fastest to fix — often the same day, since it's a direct edit and redeploy.
- The companion app works the same way: a direct fix, redeployed once we've verified it.
- Book content (the Kindle or paperback text itself) takes longer, because a correction has to go through Amazon's own republish process rather than a simple edit. We'll still fix it, and we'll say so here once it's live in the file Amazon serves.
Either way, once something is fixed, it gets a line in the log below — what was wrong, and roughly when it was corrected. We don't remove entries once they're posted, even after the underlying issue is old news.
Corrections log
Newest first. This is not a list of every small copy tweak the site has ever had — it's for the ones that were actually wrong: a fact, a number, or a claim that didn't hold up.
- 2026-09-17SiteHomepage FAQ said "every source is listed in the back of each book." True for Adults, Teen and Pro; the Kids edition teaches through story rather than citation and has none. Reworded.
- 2026-09-17SiteBook cover images on the Pro, Teen and Kids pages were rendering stretched out of their real proportions, caused by a CSS bug plus incorrect declared image dimensions on two of the three. Fixed.
- 2026-09-17SiteThe site's own privacy policy stated "we do not currently run advertising or analytics tracking" — incorrect; an anonymous, cookie-free visit counter (GoatCounter) has been running site-wide. Disclosed accurately.
- 2026-09-17Site17 of the 30 free guides linked to the wrong book edition in their byline (named "Pros," linked to the Adults page). Fixed on all 17.
- 2026-09-17SiteThe Pro edition page said "23 chapters + bonus," which reads as 24; the book has 22 numbered chapters plus one bonus, matching its own "23 named methods." Corrected to "22 chapters + bonus."
- 2026-09-17SiteAdults' and Teen's chapter-count labels ("15 Chapters," "18 chapters") didn't account for each book's Epilogue and/or Bonus Chapter, which the visible chapter list already showed. Both relabelled.
- 2026-09-17SiteThe Kindle return-policy line on four pages stated a fixed 7-day/30-day policy as settled fact. Amazon's policy can vary and change, so it now points readers to check Amazon directly.
- 2026-09-17SiteThe Pro edition page compared its price to "a single hour with a communication coach" — an unsupported claim about a whole profession's pricing. Removed.
- 2026-09-16SiteThe Adults sales page's "Before We Begin" preview showed an elephant-and-rope story captioned as the opening of Chapter Zero. That story does not appear anywhere in the actual Adult manuscript — Chapter Zero is "Say Your Name," a different story entirely. Replaced with the real, verbatim excerpt.
